187-12 Linden Blvd, St. Albans, NYAndre Damion Douglas, 'gone too soon', passed away at the age of 33 on October 5th, 2024, after a sudden cardiac arrest.
Andre was born on March 3rd, 1991, at La Guardia Hospital in Queens, New York. He grew up in Queens and attended P.S. 135 Elementary, Susan B. Anthony Middle School. He then moved to Bloomfield, New Jersey, where he finished his high school and college education.
At a young age, Andre developed a love for film, television & music. One of his earliest displays of talent was when he played the character 'Danny Zuko' in his elementary school production of “Grease”. Since then his natural talent for entertainment was evident, as he regularly brought joy and laughter to those around him. Andre was not only an avid film buff but also had talent in photography, music and comedy often putting on sketch shows and stand-up routines. Andre never turned down the opportunity to support his friends and family, often leading the cheer. His passion for entertainment grew with him and lead him to earn his Bachelor's degree in Film Production at Bloomfield College.
During college, Andre showed talent behind the camera, writing, producing, and starring his own “Mad Man Ravioli” which aired on Bloomfield Access TV every Thursday which quickly became popular among his community. He continued to write and direct more self created short films such as Marion Saint (2013), Black Handbag (2015), Raven Pharaoh:City of Assassins (2016). After earning his degree, Andre continued to work behind the camera on films and television such as Tripped Up (2023), Due Season (2022) and Honoring Choices (2022). under his production company, Lucination Films, LLC. His last unfinished project being Blue Hundreds (2023-24).
Although his life was short, it was beautiful and impactful. Despite his young age, Andre taught, supported and inspired those around him. His humor and compassion live on in his work and the people who love him. He is survived by his loving mother, Annmarie Thomas, father Noel Constantine Douglas, Sr., older brother Noel (Antoine) Douglas Jr., numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be deeply missed by his friends, neighbors and co-workers, all who held a special place in his life.
Though the series of his life have reached its final conclusion, we will continue to remember the wonderful memories he has blessed us with; his gift of laughter and the joy he spreads to everyone. His story lives on with those he's affected.
